 We are glad to introduce our new EN-B low-level glider, the Ion 2. From a technical perspective, the wing is the "little brother" of our Mentor 2. The Ion 2s strengths are similar: Easily usable performance with a high level of safety and with a nice handling behaviour. The Mentor 2 once and for all showed the performance potential within the High-Level EN-B class. We developed the Ion 2 to reach the same in the Low-Level EN-B class! Compared to Ion 1 the Ion 2 offers a completely new performance level. We could also improve the handling characteristics: The very stable wing offers a handling behaviour, which has nothing in common with a sluggish "low-level" flying feeling. For further description, please have a look here. All flight tests (from XXS to L) have been passed, as well as the load tests. The official certification will be available in the following days. |

 After 20 years with NOVA Silvia Kirchmaier is entering her well-deserved retirement. Silvia work started as a part-time engagement for the recently founded paragliding company. Back then the work load was easily manageable. Silvia had to deal with just five folders in the very beginning. As the success of NOVA started to grow, Silvias work task grow as well and became a consuming job. During the last years Silvia coordinated a team of three secretaries. Silvia was valued for her accuracy and her loyalty towards Nova. During all 20 years proved to be extraordinary reliable - no matter if regarding her job or private issues. Silvia, thank you for two decades of your dedication! We all wish you a happy retirement!! |

Thinking of learning to fly a paraglider?
German pilot and film maker Kerim Jaspersen spent the summer of 2011 filming his girlfriend as she went through the initial stages of training. The result, "Flying is Freedom", is a unique and personal 24-minute film which sees Lena Kruckenberg go from nervous new pilot to launching solo from the famous Tegelberg in Bavaria and earning her licence. The film is a perfect introduction to the sport for anyone who wants to find out more about learning to fly paragliders. | Balloon Jump - Video (08.11.2011) |
 Mike Küng performs a "Head-Over jump" with a Factor 2. Last weekend we were in Germany with Mike Küng for a hot air balloon ride. When we reached about 1000m height, he showed us a very special way of launching, called "Head-Over jump". Mike is more experienced in this technique, than many pilots are in the normal forward launch. The rest of the Nova Team, except Mario Eder, preferred to land with the hot air balloon, instead of jumping off it. :-) We'll publish a short video about our balloon-session soon! |

 Perfect weather with nice autuum thermals in Fiss in Tyrol On the last weekend all Nova Team Pilots met for our annual team meeting. Roland Patsch and Till Gottbrath did a great organisation job and the region appeared from its best side with superb weather. All pilots had plenty of time to test all our new gliders and the sky was full of gliders. Junior Pilots Mitja Jancic from Slovenia and Dominic Schärtl from Germany were award as well for their great competition results and their commitment. Thanks to all of you for this great season and for the nice meeting. Thanks also to Hermann Kirschner from the tourist association Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis for their support and their support and their warm welcome in Fiss! |
