Mentor 3 Light (04.11.2013)
Mike Küng soaring one of the first serial Mentor 3 - light
Finally, (after a delayed fabric delivery) we could recently start the serial production of the Mentor 3 light.
We managed to reduce the weight of the Mentor 3 by more than 1.kg, which leads to slightly less than 4kg for the size "S" (80-100kg).
The first demo gliders will be available soon. We'll puplish further information about the new glider within the following days.
Nova Team Pilots of the Year 2013 (07.10.2013)
Hans Tockner, Chris Bessei, Brigitta Plemenitas, Rinaldo Vuerich and Robert Schaller
At end of each XC season we award the „Pilots of the Year“ – both for outstanding achievements in XC flying and for contributing to the team spirit.
In 2013 the awards went to Brigita Plemenitas (Slovenia), Hans Tockner (Austria), Rinaldo Vuerich (Italy), as well as Chris Bessei and Robert Schaller (both Germany).
As a reward the winners were given an Oudie3, an all-in-one flight instrument from Slovenian manufacturer Naviter.
The price-giving ceremony took place during our annual pilots team meeting – this year in Val Gardena.
There is some more information in our team blog.
Mentor 3 Success (26.09.2013)
At the end of the XC season we have several successes to report:
Johann Tockner wins (once again) the international XContest competition in the standard class. Six of the Top-10 pilots were flying a Mentor 3 in the last season.
One of them was Christoph Bessei, who is a two times German champion. He won the German Standard Class ranking, as well as the German Juniors ranking.
Congratulations to all of you!
Coupe Icare (17.09.2013)
The international free-flight festival in St. Hilaire is celebrating its 40th anniversary. We are already on the way to St. Hilaire and we're looking forward to seeing you there!
an other Mentor 3 record (26.08.2013)
Raul Morales continues the series of record-flights with the Mentor 3.
In the middle of August he manages to fly a 267km (flat) triangle in Slovenia. (Sorica)
This is the biggest triangle ever flown with a standard class glider. (EN-B) The second and the third furthest flat triangle in the standard class was achieved by Rinaldo Vuerich and Uros Bergant. (both on a Mentor 3 as well)
Contratulations to all of you those outstanding flights.
Johann Tockner does it again (01.08.2013)
Many will remember Sergey Bubka, the ukrainian pole vaulter from the 80s and 90s. He was famous for braking his own world record several dozen times. (always by just one or two centimetres)
Johan Tockner has not yet quite reached this number (or Bubkas fame). But he managed to set his third consecutive record for FAI triangles in the EN-B segment.
Some weeks ago he improved his own record from 257km to 259km. Now he added three more kilometres which makes a new EN-B record of 262km.
Commenting on his flight, he says that he made a "disastrous decision" in the area of Sterzing which prevented an even longer flight.
It seems like there are more records to come for Johann Tockner and his Mentor 3.
