Mik Broschart - new Nova member (11.03.2010)

Mik Broschart - passionate Nova (XC-) pilot for many years

Mik Broschart is flying since 1989 which makes him almost a paragliding pioneer. In those last 20 years he gathered a lot of experience and took part in various XC competitions. Since 2007 Mik is a very successful and dedicated member of the NOVA Pilot Team.


His commitment and his long-time experience in the field of Marketing & Sales brought him closer to NOVA in the last years. Now Mik has quit his job and is employed at NOVA. His job has the fancy name 'Global Account & Marketing Manager'. This means, that Mik will be in charge of the international sales activities and of various marketing- and partner programs.


Mik says about his new Job: "I follow my heart. The chance of combining my passion with my job makes a dream come true. I can finally work with all my commitment and joy and I am looking forward to my new life at NOVA."


We are looking forward to Miks work as well and welcome him on board!


 
NOVA PRION - EN A / LTF 1 (22.02.2010)

 

Negli ultimi sei mesi dello scorso anno, abbiamo lavorato su una nuova vela di classe EN A / LFT 1 ed abbiamo da poco terminato con successo il nostro lavoro.

La nostra nuova ala si chiama PRION e sostituisce la PRIMAX che ha dimostrato il suo enorme potenziale di sicurezza con più di 2000 piloti.

Siamo riusciti anche a migliorare la sicurezza ed il suo comportamento in alcune importanti manovre.

Inoltre abbiamo potuto fare un grande passo avanti sulle sue caratteristiche di maneggevolezza. In seguito a questi miglioramenti riteniamo che il PRION sia ora un interessante scelta per una vasta tipologia di piloti.

Da un lato è indicata per i principianti che si affacciano al nostro sport e cercano un’ala che offre la massima sicurezza, dall’altro l’elevata maneggevolezza e le prestazioni al top della sua classe la rendono indicata anche ai piloti di maggiore esperienza.

Il PRION è già certificato nelle taglie 21, 23, 25, 27 con EN A/ LTF 1, mentre la taglia 19 seguirà presto.

Le vele demo del PRION saranno disponibili tra poche settimane presso il vostro rivenditore Nova di fiducia e siamo ansiosi di ricevere il vostro feedback! Tra pochissimo saranno disponibili anche i link con la galleria, dati tecnici e la scheda prodotto.


 
Hitchhike the Wind (27.01.2010)

The ship's crew sailing through the kazakh steppe

A couple of months ago we got an email from a group of young people, who presented their idea of  driving through Kazakhstan with a self made "windcarriage". Actually we were quite sceptic, but we liked the crazy idea. That's why we broke away from an old Phelix and we hoped it would bring the sailors good luck.


The tripartite wing did a good job and enabled an eight week trip through the vastness of the steppe. If you can't quite imagine how this has worked, then you are probably not alone. :-)

The five adventurers are working on a film, with the nice name "Hitchhike the Wind", which will show how they managed to do their journey. We will let you know, when the documentary is finished, and where you can watch it.


 
We relocated our Headquarters (22.12.2009)

Wolfi Lechner impresses with his skills as a fork lift driver


After almost 20 years in a cellar facility in the east of Innsbruck we moved to a new home about 20 kilometers east of Innsbruck in Terfens.


The relocation is almost finished, and we are looking forward to some holidays. We wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year with some nice experiences in the air and on the ground.

Impressions from Namibia (22.11.2009)

NOVA FACTOR before sunset on top of the dune

Philipp Medicus and Hilmar Gassner were in Namibia for 10 Days and enjoyed nice soaring conditions on the dunes around Swakopmund. The region is known for its  reliable west wind, which was somehow only blowing on two of those days. :-)


But the namib desert offers lots of dunes for almost any wind direction. All you have to do is to  explore the dunes on foot, which can be exhausting, if you want to cover some distance.


Most of the time the wind was quite strong, mixed with some thermal activity. Philipp and Hilmar had 7 gliders (between 12 and 23sqm) with them, which enabled them to fly in different wind speeds and gather many flights.

Rush Hour Dream (01.11.2009)

Jaspersen is a pilot from Hamburg (Germany). Besides flying, one of his hobbies is film making. About one year ago, he started to work on a film project together with Christian Menn.


The production was premiered this September in St. Hilaire at the Coupe Icare, and won the critics' prize. This is quite outstanding for a german production at a french film festival.
