One summer day Hans, a studied engineer, was observing the thunderstorm pilots. In the Alps, these heroic pilots are flying to help farmers. When serious thunderstorms threaten the harvest, the thunderstorm pilots take off with small but rugged airplanes and dispense silver iodide, which – ideally – leads to rain instead of big hailstones. Hans evolved the idea for the thermal powder: if you can let it rain with silver iodide, it must be possible to generate thermals too…

In the course of a long experimental series Hans finally developed Monoaprilid. The ingredients are of course kept secret, but he explains the functional principle of the fully biodegradable components: Monoaprilid is capable of binding to even the smallest amounts of vapour in an instant. Thereby, tiny drops of water emerge. According to the principle of the conservation of energy, a phase change from gaseous to liquid state results in a release of thermal energy: your thermal lift!

As a matter of fact, all pilots who were wondering about seeing a little amount of steam when observing Tockner in weak or small thermals were right. They actually saw Tockner’s temporary thermal mist, which dissolves without any residues in a few minutes.
