Lake Maninjau 2009 (26.07.2009)
On the Indonesian island Sumatra, there was a big paragliding event in Mai at Lake Maninjau. Two NOVA Team Pilots, Peter Ertle and Claudio Aimone were there to enjoy the the foreign culture and the flying. They took some pictures worth sharing, and wrote an interesting report about the event as well as about the flying at Lake Maninjau. If you are curious about flying in Indonesia or if you are even considering to visit this place, you should have a closer look at their report. (download here)

Here is a selection of some pictures they sent us:

Thanks for these impressions and for the nice report!

NOVA Team Meeting in Slovenia (02.03.2009)

Factor, Triton X, and Triton trying to gain hight in the first weak thermal of the day. In the end only Toni Bender was able to stay up that early. Most probably simply because of the glider. ;-)

Two FACTORs. This colour sheme is only available for the NOVA JUNIOR PILOTS.

Dušan and Brigitta, who made this weekend such a memorable and great event. Thanks for that!

St. Hilaire 2008 (21.09.2008)
Impressions from Coupe Icare in St. Hilaire:

Many people watching the costume flying parade.

Crowded Nova tent thanks of Raúl Rodriguez and free sangria. :-)

Raúl, Toni and Hannes reporting about planned projects and future acro gliders.

Hannes explains Raúl how to tumble :-)

Raúl with a new 12sqm Acro Proto in the center of attraction.

Right after take-off he flyes a rhytmic Sat with the new wing.

The trim was too fast on the first flight, so even Raúl had problems to keep the canopy clean below
him.
:-)

The first landing with the new glider. On the next day Raúl showed perfect Infinity Tumblings with
the same wing.

When it was dark, we played on the training hill with Raúls new toy. It's pretty fast at launch!

One of our pre-serial wings thermalling close to the wall.

Almost touching with the wingtips.

Balloon Aquarium. (05.10.2007)

It's around 8:00 in the morning: you're preparing your wing on the carpet. It's autumn, the sun is just twinkling over the mountains directly in front of us.
It's slightly backwards wind, the takeoff is very flat and leading to a vertical wall.
It's the most famous paraglider takeoff in the world.

Some people on the edge are looking down and gesticulating: it's good now: go!
The first ones are taking off. The pilot in front of me has a launch failure. I'm stepping back to the trailing edge of my IBEX 17: concentrating, running.
The wing is lifting me off easily after a short sprint. I can see over the edge now: the first balloons are just rising up through the fog covering the valley. Some are climbing faster: I'm targeting to one of those. It's unusual having a target that is climbing up. The air is fresh, absolute calm. The ambience is fantastic. After a few km straight out flight I'm surpassing my balloon a few meter below. I'm looking for the next one: it's just a small distance away. I'm getting my IBEX into a steep, dynamic curve around the balloon. I'm crowing to the people in the basket. More and more balloons are rising up. I'm surrounded by many big, bright colored spheres...

Whow, what a flight! It's impression is balancing the stress we had all days in St. Hilaire' exhibition by far! On the landing field I'm counting 26 balloons over our heads! Don't miss that flight, when you're there. It's the best reason to get up early!

Jerome Sarthe shot some fantastic pics. Tony was flying our new ACRO proto with the insect design.
